Feature
Content Optimization
Analyze top-ranking competitors, identify content gaps with NLP and entity analysis, then optimize or generate articles that match search intent — complete with real images.
Optimization driven by real SERP data
Most AI writers generate content in a vacuum. Publish Owl's optimizer starts by studying the pages that already rank — scraping top results, extracting NLP terms and entities, and building a data-driven blueprint for content that competes.
A parallel content audit evaluates your draft in isolation, flagging weak sections, missing depth, and structural issues before the optimizer even begins rewriting. Combined with entity gap analysis that compares your coverage against competitors, nothing falls through the cracks.
The result is content that doesn't just read well — it's engineered to rank. And with smart image sourcing that pulls from screenshots, web photos, stock libraries, and AI generation, your articles look as authoritative as they read.

Capabilities
Everything you need to outrank competitors
SERP Analysis
Scrapes top-ranking pages for your target keyword, extracts NLP terms with frequency data, and identifies the entities competitors cover. You see exactly what Google rewards.
Content Audit
Evaluates your existing content in isolation — scoring structure, depth, readability, and topical coverage. Findings feed directly into the optimization step so every weakness is addressed.
Entity Analysis
Compares the entities in your draft against those found across competitors. Missing people, products, concepts, and places are flagged so you can close coverage gaps.
Auto-Optimize
One-click rewriting that weaves in missing NLP terms, fills entity gaps, and addresses audit findings. Your content's voice is preserved while its competitive edge is sharpened.
Generate Content
No existing draft? Generate a full article from just a keyword. The optimizer uses SERP data as a blueprint, producing content that's competitive from the first draft.
Smart Images
Automatically source relevant images through a configurable cascade: webpage screenshots, Creative Commons web photos, stock libraries (Pexels, Pixabay, Unsplash), or AI generation.
Multi-Language
Optimize works in 60+ languages, not just English. Per-language stopwords, character n-gram analysis for CJK and Thai, and language-aware prompts mean German articles get German term recommendations and Japanese articles get Japanese ones. Pick the country and language together; everything downstream adapts.
How It Works
From keyword to published article
Analyze Your Keyword
Enter a target keyword and Publish Owl scrapes the top SERP results, runs NLP extraction to identify key terms and their ideal frequencies, performs entity analysis, and audits your existing content if you have one. SERP analysis and content audit run in parallel for speed.
Optimize or Generate
Choose Auto-Optimize to rewrite an existing draft using the analysis data, or Generate Content to create a new article from scratch. Both modes use NLP terms, entity gaps, and audit findings as constraints so the output is built to compete.
Add Images & Publish
Smart Images automatically finds relevant visuals — web screenshots, Creative Commons photos from Openverse and Wikimedia, stock photos, or AI-generated images. Then publish directly to WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, or any connected CMS.
Smart Images
Real visuals, not generic stock
Readers and search engines both value original, relevant imagery. Publish Owl's smart image system goes far beyond pulling a random stock photo.
Configure a cascade of image sources that the system tries in order. Start with webpage screenshots of tools and products mentioned in your article. Fall back to Creative Commons web photos. Try stock libraries next. Use AI generation as a final option. Each source adds authenticity that generic imagery can't match.
Images are automatically resized, attributed where required, and inserted into your article with descriptive alt text for accessibility and SEO.
Image Cascade
- Screenshots - Capture live webpages of mentioned tools and sites
- Web photos - Creative Commons images from Openverse and Wikimedia
- Google Images - Commercially-licensed results via search
- Stock libraries - Pexels, Pixabay, and Unsplash integration
- AI generation - GPT Image, Flux, Stable Diffusion, Ideogram, and more
- Custom templates - Fabric.js compositing for branded featured images
Supported Sources
- Openverse - 800M+ Creative Commons works from museums, libraries, and creators
- Wikimedia Commons - Free-use media from Wikipedia's ecosystem
- Google Images - Filtered for Creative Commons or commercial licenses
- Auto-attribution - License-appropriate credits added automatically
Web Images
Creative Commons at scale
Not every article needs AI-generated visuals. For many topics — travel, food, technology, nature — real photographs from Creative Commons sources are more authentic and trustworthy.
Publish Owl searches Openverse, Wikimedia Commons, and Google Images for CC-licensed photos that match your article's topics. Attribution is handled automatically based on the specific license requirements, so you stay compliant without manual effort.
Automation
Optimize inside automated pipelines
Multi-Step Workflows
Add optimization as a step in any agent workflow. A typical pipeline might research a topic, write a first draft, run the optimizer to inject NLP terms and fill entity gaps, then publish — all without manual intervention. Each step's output feeds into the next.
Scheduled Optimization
Schedule optimization jobs to run on a recurring basis. Feed in a list of keywords, and Publish Owl will analyze, optimize, add images, and publish on autopilot. Combine with the job calendar to plan content weeks in advance.
Bulk Operations
Run the optimizer across dozens of existing articles at once. Upload a CSV of keywords and URLs, and let Publish Owl analyze competitors, audit content, and apply improvements in batch — ideal for large-scale content refreshes.
CMS Integration
Optimized content publishes directly to WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Strapi, GitHub Pages, or any webhook-compatible CMS. Images are uploaded alongside the article with proper alt text and captions already in place.
What is Publish Owl?
AI workflows that think like a content team
Publish Owl orchestrates multiple AI models in sequence, where each step builds on the previous. Just like a content team where researchers hand off to writers, who hand off to editors.
You define the workflow once, then run it with any keyword or data source. The platform handles everything from initial research to final publication on your CMS of choice.
Use your own API keys for complete cost control. No middleman markup, no hidden fees. Just direct access to the AI providers you choose.
Configure every detail: prompts, style guides, AI provider, image generation, and more. Save it once, reuse it endlessly.
Feed keywords, CSV data, or Google Sheets. Each input produces an article based on your agent's settings.
Articles go directly to WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, and other supported platforms with optional scheduling and drip publishing.
Why BYOK?
Skip the hidden markup
Most AI content platforms meter your usage behind subscription tiers. What costs them pennies in API calls gets marked up 10-50x before it reaches you through article limits and pricing tiers.
Publish Owl uses a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model. You connect your own API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or others, and pay the AI providers directly at their rates.
No middleman. No hidden fees. No surprise bills. Just transparent, direct API costs that you control.
