We want you to be completely satisfied with Publish Owl. This policy explains when and how you can request a refund.
14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a full refund within 14 days of your initial subscription purchase, no questions asked. If Publish Owl isn't right for you, simply request a refund and we'll process it promptly.
Eligibility
You are eligible for a full refund if:
- You are within 14 days of your initial subscription purchase
- This is your first refund request for Publish Owl
- You have not previously received a refund from us
What's Covered
The 14-day refund policy applies to:
- Monthly subscriptions: First month's payment
- Annual subscriptions: Full annual payment
- Lifetime subscriptions: Full one-time payment
What's Not Covered
The following are NOT eligible for refunds:
- Third-party API costs: Any charges from AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) are between you and those providers. We cannot refund these costs. See below for details.
- Renewal payments: After your initial 14-day period, subscription renewals are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time to prevent future charges.
- Partial periods: If you cancel mid-billing period, you retain access until the end of the period but won't receive a prorated refund.
- Abuse: Refunds may be denied if we detect abuse of the refund policy (e.g., repeated subscriptions and refunds).
Important: Third-Party API Costs
Publish Owl operates on a "Bring Your Own Keys" (BYOK) model. This means:
- You provide your own API keys for AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.)
- These providers bill you directly based on your usage
- Publish Owl has no visibility into, control over, or ability to refund these charges
- API costs are your responsibility regardless of whether you are satisfied with the generated content
We cannot provide refunds for API costs in any circumstance, including:
- Dissatisfaction with AI-generated content quality
- Content containing errors, inaccuracies, or hallucinations
- Running more articles than intended
- Forgetting to cancel a batch operation
- Unexpected costs from model selection or content length
- Any other reason related to AI output or usage
If you have concerns about API charges, you must contact your AI provider directly (e.g., OpenAI Help). We recommend setting spending limits on your provider accounts.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund:
- Go to our Contact page
- Submit a message with subject "Refund Request"
- Include your account email address
- Briefly explain why you'd like a refund (optional, but helps us improve)

Processing Time
We process refund requests within 3-5 business days. Once approved:
- Refunds are issued to your original payment method
- It may take 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your bank
- You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed
After a Refund
Once a refund is processed:
- Your subscription will be cancelled immediately
- You will lose access to paid features
- Any content you created remains accessible on your connected CMS platforms
- Your account data may be retained for a period in case you decide to return
Cancellation vs. Refund
Cancellation stops future billing but lets you keep access until your current period ends. No refund is issued.
Refund returns your payment and immediately ends your access to paid features. Only available within the first 14 days.

Content Quality Concerns
AI-generated content quality varies and depends on many factors including your prompts, model selection, and the AI providers themselves. Dissatisfaction with content quality is not grounds for a refund of either subscription fees or API costs.
Before running bulk operations, we strongly recommend:
- Testing with a single article first
- Reviewing and adjusting your workflow configuration
- Understanding that AI output requires human review and editing

Disputes and Chargebacks
If you have a billing dispute or believe you were charged in error, please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We're committed to resolving issues fairly and promptly.
Note: We maintain records of all consent acknowledgments made before running jobs. If a dispute arises, we can provide evidence that you acknowledged cost responsibility before proceeding.
